we are a family run, independent venue taking inspiration from malvern’s rich history and the ‘healing power’ of malvern spring water.
the water cure was first started in 1842 by Dr James Wilson and Dr James Gully, and focused on treating people with the pure malvern water and fresh country air. the ‘cure’ drew people from all over, including many famous faces which have been the inspiration for our signature cocktails.
we opened on 26th may 2021 after starting renovations on the old natwest bank building in may 2018 and having been delayed by COVID-19.
our ethos is simple; we serve fresh cruelty–free drinks and nibbles in a friendly and inclusive environment. we believe in being mindful of our actions and the products we use, wanting everything we do to reflect our concerns for sustainability.
in the summer we open up our garden, and on saturday’s nights this has its own outside bar to order from with a simpler menu for a more casual and relaxed atmosphere.
we welcome everyone, there is no dress code and we are dog friendly.
please note we are only licensed to have children until 9pm.
our bespoke water cure cocktails, inspired by malvern's rich history and the healing power of malvern spring water, pay homage to famous faces drawn to the beautiful hills, each cocktail inspired by their stories.
our wine selection highlights small, independent producers practicing organic or biodynamic farming, minimal intervention in the cellar, and often featuring minimal or no sulphites added and unfiltered options. emphasising authenticity and quality while respecting the environment, we support these winemakers who pour their love and dedication into their craft
