we are a family run, independent cocktail bar taking inspiration from malvern’s rich history and the ‘healing power’ of malvern spring water.
the water cure was first started in 1842 by Dr James Wilson and Dr James Gully, and focused on treating people with the pure malvern water and fresh country air. the ‘cure’ drew people from all over, including many famous faces which have been the inspiration for our signature cocktails.
what's on the menu?
our bespoke water cure cocktails, inspired by malvern's rich history and the healing power of malvern spring water, pay homage to famous faces drawn to the beautiful hills, each cocktail inspired by their stories.
our wine selection highlights small, independent producers practicing organic or biodynamic farming, minimal intervention in the cellar, and often featuring minimal or no sulphites added and unfiltered options. emphasising authenticity and quality while respecting the environment, we support these winemakers who pour their love and dedication into their craft
do we need to book?
please note we are walk-in only unless you are a group of 7+ and would like to book one of our private rooms. we do not take bookings for the main room.
pink room: enjoy exclusive gatherings in our pink room suitable for 7-13 guests
function room: host larger events in our function room for up to 60 people.

On Easter Saturday we will be holding our first ever DJ night in our upstairs room! Join us from 7:30pm - 12am for a bank holiday boogie; spirits/wines/cocktails/bottled beers will be available in from our upstairs bar with a mixture of disco, house & garage tunes all evening We have a strict maximum of 60 spaces for this one so make sure you email lottie@thewatercure.co.uk to put you and your mates on the door list. December hours have dropped! This year we will be staying open an hour later on 18th & 19th December with last orders at 11pm instead of 10pm, and we are then open our normal hours every day in the lead up to Christmas Day! ✨ You can also catch us in the day time on Christmas Eve for a treat whilst getting your last minute shopping 🎄 As usual we will then be opening a little later in January to give our lovely staff a break and get the bar spic and span ready for your return! 💙

Three days of live music from 2nd-4th August and taking place at different venues all over town, it’s a great opportunity to listen to some of your favourite local bands and discover new talent. We’re taking part this Friday in our garden (weather permitting of course) from 8pm. Our garden bar will be open for the event, and there is no need to book you can just rock up! We’re not sure where Novembers gone, but it’s the Christmas light switch on next Saturday! ✨ We will be opening as usual from 2pm, and you and the family can join us for: - the launch of our Christmas cocktail menu and a mulled wine stand in our garden - @veglifeeats kitchen pop up from 2pm (think loaded festive fries, Middle Eastern wraps, warming samosa chaat 🤤) - our live music nights resuming from 830pm; these will be every Friday & Saturday on the lead up to Christmas There’s something for everyone going on in town as well as a festive market from 11am - 5pm, so pop and see us and have a look around 🎄💙
